Short-Term Collaboration

If you are interested in a short-term collaboration while enrolled in a PhD program at another university, please review this section.

  • Thoroughly review our lab’s activities and propose a research subject that aligns with our expertise.
  • Ensure the collaboration has a well-defined goal, aiming for a clear scientific contribution by the end.
  • Note that there may be approximately 4 months of administrative processing after the initial agreement.

Join Us

We maintain an international standard of research, so our expectations may be higher than anticipated. Below is a breakdown of the workload and support provided by our lab for each level of researcher:

Internship (M. Sc.)

Workload:

  • Duration: 5-6 months
  • Requirements: 1 publication and/or 1 working robotic demonstration
  • Courses: None

Support:

  • Stipend: Approximately €600 per month, tax-free
  • Travel expenses covered for international conferences

Ph.D.

Workload:

  • Duration: 3 years
  • Requirements: 3 publications, including 1 journal paper
  • Courses: 8 courses of approximately 2 days each

Support:

  • Salary: Approximately €2200 per month
  • Travel expenses covered for international conferences
  • Opportunity for 1-8 months of training abroad

Postdoc

Workload:

  • Duration: 6 months - 2 years
  • Project management, active publications, student supervision
  • Courses: None

Support:

  • Salary: Negotiable
  • Travel expenses covered for international conferences

For all levels, you should:

  • Be self-driven, autonomous, ethical, and meticulous
  • Develop communication skills to international standards
  • Actively participate in the development and maintenance of the lab’s infrastructure

Suggested Courses

During your PhD, you are required to complete eight short courses, each approximately two days long. Refer to the PhD Guide for a list of available courses, which may vary each year.

  • International Journal of Robotics Research (IJRR)
  • Transactions on Field Robotics (T-FR)
  • IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L)
  • IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA)
  • IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS)
  • International Conference on Robotics: Science and Systems (RSS)
  • European Conference on Mobile Robots (ECMR) - Typically held closer to France than other international conferences.

How to Apply

  3. Ensure we are advertising an open position, or come with your own research idea connected to our work. Having your own funding is (obviously) a plus.
